Dennis Tew is head of National Sales in Canada. Leveraging more than 20 years of experience in the investment fund industry, Mr. Tew is responsible for the overall strategic direction of retail distribution initiatives, including servicing the financial advisor channel and directing retail product development in Canada. Mr. Tew also partners closely with other distribution channel leads in institutional and private wealth to ensure one seamless and integrated approach to the Canadian market.
As president and CEO of FTC Investor Services Inc., Mr. Tew oversees the strategy and operations of Franklin Templeton’s MFDA registered mutual fund dealership.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Tew was head of Sales Compliance and Business Operations for all distribution activities in North America, and previously served as head of Corporate Development and Planning for Canada. In addition, he served as senior vice president and chief financial officer for Franklin Templeton Investments Corp. for more than a decade. Having joined the firm in 1996, Mr. Tew’s previous roles have also included head of Taxation and controller. Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, Mr. Tew held a management position in the taxation department of a major assurance, tax and advisory services firm.
Mr. Tew earned an honours B.A. degree in Chartered accounting from the University of Waterloo where he currently serves as an honorary fellow in the School of Accounting. He is a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and an inactive U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA IL).
