Job Description:

The ETF Investment Strategist will work very closely with the ETF team, Retail Sales, Marketing, Capital Markets & Product Managers supporting Canada. The candidate will report into the SVP - Head of Retail ETF Distribution in Canada.

Job Responsibilities:

The ETF Investment Strategist will be responsible for helping create thought leadership and ETF sales ideas for the Franklin Templeton ETF Distribution Team. The candidate will aggregate data on ETF trends. flows. competitor trend and launches. help develop sales ideas both tactical and strategic. build relationships with the product team, retail and institutional sales team and work closely with the marketing team on ETF collateral development.

The candidate will assist the retail and institutional sales team with providing qualitative product comparisons, create regular content to help position new & existing strategies and will keep abreast of the competitive landscape and strategies. The candidate will also assist with broader sales team request.

Through this role, the ETF Investment Strategist will gain familiarity of the investment process and portfolio construction across Franklin Templeton's product ranges and the clients we work with.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support Heads of Retail and Institutional ETF Distribution with ad hoc ideas and strategic positioning.
  • Update and oversee ETF sales material, generation of new sales ideas and supporting existing & new ETFs.
  • Aggregate data on ETF trends, industry flows and broader data request.
  • Monitor competitor launches, inform sales teams and assessing how these products compare to ours /Assist with product specific analysis (client requests, comparisons...)
  • Keep abreast on macroeconomic developments relevant for our ETF range and positioning.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree ideally within the field of Finance and/or economics or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in product strategy, portfolio management or sales. ETF experience preferable.
  • Ideally CFA, CIMA, or working towards the qualification.
  • Proficient in Excel with ability to manipulate data in a spreadsheet / Bloomberg / PowerPoint (ability to create and edit slides)
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, good knowledge of the investment industry and investment management techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, bilingual preferred
  • Self-starter, attention to details, ability to work with deadlines and to manage multiple requests. 
  • Strong team player with the ability to use own initiative
