The Canadian ETF Association (CETFA) is the first and only ETF industry association.  Founded in 2012, the organization has grown to represent 18 member ETF issuers and 18 affiliate members representing the cross section of supporting firms across the ETF ecosystem.  The association represents members with over 90% of the $440 billion invested in Canadian-listed ETFs, as of June 30, 2024.

The mandate/vision of CETFA is to help to promote the growth, use, education, sustainability, and integrity of ETFs in Canada’s ETF industry.

Job Description

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership, overall management, and operations of the organization according to the strategic direction, and policies set by the Board.

The Executive Director will lead the organization in the continued growth and success off the Canadian ETF Industry. They will represent the organization in the industry, develop strategic partnerships, advocate on behalf of its members, and work with regulators and government on key issues towards the betterment of the ETF investor experience.

Job Summary

The Board of Directors delegates responsibility and authority for management functions to the Executive Director to act on the Board’s behalf to;

• Serve as the CEO of the organization
• Manage and make decisions on the day-to-day operations for the organization
• Responsible for the overseeing of any staff/consultants the organization uses
• Assist and advise the Board on compliance requirements and operating the organization
• Implement all policies adopted by the Board
• Recommend appropriate policy issues for the Board’s attention

The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring that the organization is operated in compliance with Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act.

The Executive Director is responsible for making decisions regarding the strategic and operational needs and the expansion of the organization mission/vision.
