Purpose/Objective:

We are looking for a self-starter to join our dynamic portfolio management team in the Canadian and Global ETF Market. This is an opportunity to join Canada’s most innovative ETF provider.

As a key member of the portfolio management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day management for several of our ETF products. This critical role works within the Portfolio Management team to manage all aspects of the index tracking business and collaborates with the Sales, Product Development, and Strategy teams to support and drive the success of our broader ETF line-up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the equity strategy for each index tracking ETF according to its mandate
  • Coordinate the execution of the strategies with the trading team and executing brokers
  • Maintain and enhance fund and index infrastructure critical to day-to-day portfolio management operations
  • Support expansion of investment platform to aid in scaling the index tracking business
  • Build and expand portfolio analytics and reporting capabilities of the investment team
  • Collaborate with investment teams in support of improving processes and scalability across asset classes and mandates
  • Closely monitor and analyze market conditions to identify and evaluate opportunities in alignment with business objectives
  • Leverage global synergies and collaborate with Mirae Asset global ETF business
  • Assist the product development team in testing new and innovative product ideas

Skills & Experience:

  • 1-5 years of experience in investment management, trading or capital markets
  • Strong quantitative and programming skills with experience applying these to investment management
  • Experience automating portfolio workflows through Python-driven processes, integrating market data sources, APIs, and databases to support scalable portfolio management, reporting and analysis
  • Professional designation in finance with an exceptional understanding of market structure and trading
  • Ability to organize and prioritize to thrive in a high pressure, deadline and data driven environment
  • Proactive team-oriented mindset with an interest and aptitude to add value outside of core responsibilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical and analytical skills; experience within ETF operations preferred

This opportunity is for an existing vacancy within the organization. The anticipated annual base salary range for the Portfolio Manager, Index Strategies is $90,000 to $140,000. The exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and budget.
