Job Description
As we grow our ETF Services franchise, we are looking for a quantitative-minded candidate to join our team. The candidate would be involved in blending business and technology, focused on automated electronic market making in ETFs, both in Canada and beyond. The candidate would also be involved in the management of trading positions and market risk.
Job Responsibilities
What Will You Do
- Support capital market: be part of the glue that allows the public to invest in ETFs
- Build the client franchise: support the needs of investors, including providing execution guidance and providing accurate and competitive pricing for trading flows.
- Manage trading risk: participate in the day-to-day operations of Scotiabank’s ETF Services trading desk, including responsibility for risk management, process improvement and business automation
- Lead through technology: continually improve our high-performance market-making infrastructure, partnering with technology teams to develop best-in-class software solutions
- Smarter every day: develop and apply quantitative techniques to price and hedge ETF products in North America
- Enjoy doing it: champion a high performing and inclusive work environment.
Qualifications
What Will You Bring
- Meaningful experience in fields such as ETF market making, quantitative portfolio management, equity derivatives, or other aspects of capital markets risk management
- Demonstrated background in software development and integration
- Knowledge of ETF market making & risk management, including transaction cost analysis in this space
- Experience in fixed income trading or equity derivatives structuring an asset
- Undergraduate Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math or equivalent work experience
