Job Description & Responsibilities
Fidelity Private Wealth offers high net worth clients a holistic wealth management experience. As a new business, there are multiple ongoing projects to develop the business into a competitive enterprise in wealth management.
The Private Wealth Program Manager will be responsible for providing ongoing project management support on larger projects of strategic or business importance by providing planning, strategic thinking and alignment between the departments and partners on these projects. This role is a key contributor in building robust partnerships and will liaise with business leaders and colleagues, including but not limited to technical teams, legal, risk, audit, compliance, finance, marketing, service teams and operations, to ensure successful delivery and operational excellence.
The Private Wealth Program Manager will be a key contributor in developing goals and metrics for the team, tracking them on an ongoing basis, and ensuring team members and partners contribute in-line with the success metrics established while exhibiting strong relationship building and influencing skills to advance Private Wealth initiatives.
How You’ll Make an Impact
-Establish structure and proactively manage portfolio of projects through strong project governance and control
- Establish project governance structure and prioritization for a portfolio of projects primarily focused on Private Wealth business initiatives.
- Collaborate with business leads to plan initiation of projects, including estimation, timing and resourcing of prioritized initiatives.
- Lead continuous enhancements of project governance and ensure that project management standards, processes and procedures are adhered to.
- Collaborate with all internal business and technology partners, providing adequate communication, transparency, and reporting on Private Wealth portfolio of projects to the established project governance forums, including ITEC, SET and steering committee as required.
-Define complex business initiatives and is responsible for project management and coordination of activities in projects between groups of stakeholders
- Manage complex initiatives, including co-ordination of project workstreams to other project managers or business leads.
- Utilize a variety of program management techniques to manage interrelated projects for a specific functional department, service unit or line of business to provide consistent project management expertise across a group of initiatives, coordinate inter-project and intra-project dependencies and resolve project and program issues.
- Maintain focus on cost, scope and timelines, providing transparent and timeline reporting on project progress to project sponsor(s) and business stakeholders, including escalation of issues.
- Proactively works on proposing solution to the project goals and resolution of issues, and chooses adequate project management approach, including agile, waterfall, or any appropriate hybrid solution
-Actively engage with project teams, working committees and external vendors
- Manage vendors’ involvement when 3rd parties are engaged to provide professional services for the project execution or are being engaged to establish ongoing managed services.
- Prepare effective communications and presentations for senior management, including SET, steering committee, executive and project sponsors, and business project owners.
- Liaise with internal project managers on information & technology related projects, and coordinate efforts with broad array of teams and departments to move business initiatives forward.
- Compile and share progress reports and upcoming deadlines with stakeholders.
- Ensure commitment and deliverables are communicated and supported
-Program lead for the implementation of solutions to deliver exceptional client experiences, operational excellence and change management
- Accountable for problem investigation and resolution as it relates to processes or tools impacting day-to-day operations
- Develop and manage process and procedures manuals for key business processes
- Responsible for providing the project details and rationale to all key stakeholders and developing progress updates with key milestones, roadblocks, and risk considerations
- Collaborative and develop mutually beneficial working relationship with partners across the organization to ensure the optimal implementation and support of projects and initiatives
This is a hybrid role with a mix of remote and in-office working. Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.
Qualifications
What You’ll Need
- Detail oriented – with the ability to analyze and synthesize information to identify and understand issues and solutions
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to foster and maintain strong working relationship and work cooperatively with others, including managers and leaders across multiple departments
- Private Wealth knowledge/experience and ability to learn processes quickly and gain an understanding of the Fidelity Private Wealth Operations Model
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written; ability to convey complex business needs and interests to broad group of stakeholders
- Expert knowledge of project management and development methodologies
- Drive for results, with the ability to deal with and bring consensus to contentious issues
- Independent, curious, risk taker – can thrive in fast-paced environment where business conditions and projects continually change
- Ability to influence and persuade
What We’re Looking For
- Completion of a University degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years in project management roles
- Project management experience in financial industry, specifically wealth management
- Experience and demonstrated ability to organize complex programs, with strong attention to details, time management, people management, and technology support.
- Experience with cross-functional, cross-hierarchy work, including communication and relationship building.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and the ability to illustrate key concepts/processes/structures in compelling and easy-to-understand slides
- Experience in strategy and business planning is an asset
- Experience working with software/technology
