Job Description

This is a hybrid role with a mix of remote and in-office working. Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.

Fidelity Private Wealth is a discretionary manager who provides holistic wealth planning, investment management, and personalized services. The Bilingual Advising Representative/Associate Advising Representative Relationship Manager/Investment Counsellor is responsible for providing an exceptional client experience and growing our base of high-net-worth clients. The incumbent in this position will become a meaningful partner in our clients’ lives by employing a holistic goals-based approach to help high net worth families develop a complete vision for their future and design an integrated wealth plan to make that vision a reality.

Job Responsibilities

How You’ll Make an Impact

Develop and maintain strong client relationships

  • Partner with clients to understand their objectives and what is important to them
  • Act as a concierge to clients to assist with their financial needs and ensure client satisfaction and retention
  • Provide regular updates to clients on investment strategies, capital markets and various other aspects of the clients’ financial needs
  • Be resourceful and creative when determining solutions that will add value to the client’s long-term goals
  • Ability to translate complex information into easy to understand concepts

Strong financial planning and total wealth approach

  • Complete a deep discovery to understand clients financial and non-financial situation and what factors are important to them
  • Leverage our financial planning software to put together a plan to address identified client needs and goals
  • Continuously review and update client plans as material changes occur throughout various life stages

Entrepreneurial and results oriented

  • Collaborate with other departments to market Fidelity’s services and support potential prospecting and referral opportunities
  • Cultivate client and external relationships to help grow the Fidelity brand and foster referrals from centers of influence and existing clients
  • Partner with community leaders and industry professionals to help clients address their various financial needs
  • High degree of perseverance and adaptability when it comes to prioritizing resources and deliverables

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • Completion of a University degree or equivalent work experience
  • Over 7 years of investment management experience working with high net worth retail investors
  • Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) or Level 1 of the CFA or full CFA Charter
  • Must be currently registered or be eligible to become registered as an Associate Advising Representative (AAR) or Advising Representative (AR) by meeting the OSC proficiency and the relevant investment management experience requirements.  AR/AAR registration requirements include:
    • Experience in a business that manages client portfolios on a discretionary basis
    • Understanding of portfolio analysis or portfolio security selection
    •  Research and analysis of individual securities (i.e., stock picking)
  • Strong financial planning experience
  • Bilingual in French is an asset
