Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join our dynamic Fund Operations team to support our rapid growth in the Canadian and Global ETF markets. This is an opportunity to join one of Canada’s most innovative ETF providers. The successful candidate will oversee administrative responsibilities for 100+ ETF products managed by Horizons ETFs Management (Canada) Inc.
Job Responsibilities
Fund Oversight
• Provide oversight on Net Asset Value (NAV) and INAV calculations from the service provider
• Provide oversight in cash and position reconciliation
• Prepare and assist with monthly expense internal and external reporting
• Diagnose issues related to fund valuation and fund reporting
• Support in the implementation of complex transactions, product launches, closures and other initiatives
• Participate in process improvement initiatives
Financial Reporting:
• Support in the preparation and production of the interim and annual financial statements, and management reports of fund performance (MRFP)
• Review financial statement working papers from an external provider
• Prepare and review calculations for notes to the financial statement and MRFPs
• Coordinate annual fund audit requests
• Support in prospectus renewals
Fund distribution and tax reporting:
• Prepare the calculation of monthly distributions, rebates, management fees, and administrative fees
• Calculation of year-end distributions of income, capital gains and related tax issues
• Prepare annual T3 factors to internal and external parties and other CRA filings as required
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
• University degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and a minimum of 2-3 years of related work experience
• MS Office proficiency with advanced Excel skills as Excel usage will be a major component of the role
• Programming proficiency in VBA and Python experience is an asset.
• Good working knowledge of ETFs and accounting principles
• Organized, analytical, action-oriented individual with strong project-planning skills
• Ability to process and apply new skills and concepts quickly
• Able to work with precision and meet tight deadlines
• Strong technical and analytical skills; experience within ETF operations preferred
• Knowledge of Canadian taxation, IFRS and the mutual fund industry is an asset
