Job Description:

Your Role:

The Senior Product Analyst for the Americas Competitive Research unit will participate in a variety of investment and product-related research projects and initiatives. Responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to supporting Canadian retail and NA Institutional distribution channels in product-related inquiries along with providing competitive intelligence to various internal business partners. The successful individual will also maintain and enhance production of selected recurring reports.

Job Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  • Support Canadian retail and NA Institutional distribution channels in product-related inquiries
  • Support Canadian Retail, Sub advised, SMA and North American institutional sales efforts through direct and indirect product work
  • Provide relevant and thorough information related to investment performance, process, positioning, and characteristics. Typical examples include (i) Assisting Consultants of all levels in competitive or complementary sales efforts; (ii) Assisting Wealth Management Intermediaries with product placement at broker/dealers; (iii) Assessing competitors for institutional sales opportunities and predatory marketing programs
  • Work directly with client-facing sales professionals in the development of supporting materials and information, with a particular emphasis on focus products that supports Invesco’s growth initiatives

Provide competitive intelligence to various internal business partners

  • Support Product Managers and Client Portfolio Managers in identifying and tracking key competitors and uncovering potential takeover opportunities
  • Assist Invesco’s product development efforts by providing research on peer group construction, historical performance, and pricing-related information
  • Support Invesco’s strategic planning efforts by producing analysis on overall competitive position, identification of key trends, and strengths/weaknesses of specific products

Maintain production of selected recurring reports

  • Facilitate the production of Marketing-related communications, both product and capital market specific
  • Support Institutional and Wealth Management Intermediaries with regular and ad-hoc reporting requirements
  • Provide product performance reporting for Invesco Canada to supplement what is provided by the Performance Measurement, Analytics, and Reporting team
  • Constantly look for opportunities to enhance content and efficiency of report production

Proficient use of third-party databases and research tools:

  • Understand the full functionality of available research tools covering mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), managed accounts, and other retail vehicles as well as institutional investment strategies
  • Utilize expertise on third-party databases for ongoing and ad hoc competitor and market research, pairing the right tool(s) with each request
  • Assist and/or coordinate with product-related questions on Request for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Partner with third-party vendors for new product setups and communication changes to products as needed

 

Qualifications:
  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Marketing or a related field is required
  • Approximately 7-10 years of experience in the financial services industry is necessary to successfully perform the responsibilities of this position
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Power BI and strong understanding of VBA; proficient in Word and PowerPoint
  • Any experience with research databases and software systems is considered a plus (e.g. Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, Zephyr StyleADVISOR, Strategic Insight, IFIC, Style Analytics, eVestment, and/or Mercer Insight)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
  • Possess spirit of continuous improvement
  • Use of technology to maximize efficiency
